OBJ/East info

So, trying to plan a trip around the end of next week. Will the Crested Butte creeks still be going? Just a quick status update. Thanks to all.

Syotr,
kenny

Last weekend obj was med in the morning, high at night. Looked to be plenty of snow left. Slate gauge is a bit lower now, but I would guess it will be fine at least through next weekend if the weather stays warm.

i dont know....stuff is holding right now, but it's been melting FAST. I think the bottom is going to drop out basin wide sometime soon. You MIGHT be able to get on it........but dont be mad if you get here and find low flows.

Is there a way to tell by the slate gauge how much water is in each? Can't seem to finda good correlation anywhere. Hoping for a little more water this weekend than the last time I ran it.

As I'm sure you know, the gauge includes all the water from OBJ, Daisey and the N. Fork of the Slate. In my experience, for OBJ, 500 equals low, 700 equals medium, 1000 equals high. Last weekend, the gauge was fluctuating between 700-800. Obviously, the flow rises significantly during the day when it is warm and sunny.

For Daisey and Slate, the more water the better. 700 on the Slate is probably the min for good flows, with evening runs best.
