NSV Lower Update 5-27-09

Passing on what I found out today from the Buttonrock ranger station.

Buttonrock Res is 3' from spilling. They are also releasing 270cfs today to fill Foothills Res, they were not sure for how long? The ranger and water board expect the dam to fill soon, if we get hot weather to increase the inflow and when they cut the out flow that is currently going to Foothills. Once it spills, we can use the upper gauge for the whole river.

They also told me that the State is considering to not turn back on the NSV lower gauge. They encouraged paddlers, as constitiants of the sate, to call Russell Stroude sp? at 970-352-8712 to share our concern and to request that they turn the gauge back on.
