I got to do something super cool today. I am currently touring with Warren Miller ski films in California and had a sweet side trip today. A good friend of mine is employed at George Lucas's very private Skywalker Ranch near San Fran. She gave us the full tour of what has to be one of the most insane estates ever. He does not live there but the ranch is home to his movie artifacts as well as sound stages and production areas. I have been a big Indiana Jones and Star Wars fan so seeing this place was beyond cool. Indy's hat and whip, all the light sabers (Darth, Luke, Obe's), the golden monkey from the intro of I.J as well as the amulet, the helmet in American Graffiti. Tons of cool things to see. An art collection with many original Norman Rockwells'. It was truly beyond belief. We were even allowed to check out his huge Oscar collection. The estate is so vast they even have their own fire department! Just thought I would share. I know many of you shoot films (Brooke, Matt, etc..) and you guys would have triped!!
Here is a random web site i found with pics. It really does not do the place justice.
