North Fork of the Slate Drop - Video

For your viewing pleasure, here's some footage of Gary E running it last summer. The crux of the run, surprisingly, is probably not the steep back-to-back waterfalls, but rather the ultra sticky "notch" in the run-out. Due to the angle, I didn't get this part on vid.

To view on mac use the Flip4Mac free WMV add-on to Quicktime:

If you aren't using the latest Quicktime player (7.0), you may have to upgrade to it first.

sick line

thanks for posting. That is a sick line, Gary. Looks smooth. I looked at that set of drops last summer and it is impressive.

One question - I somehow got the notion that most people who have run the n.f. slate have not run the slot below the falls, and instead have had a friend on shore at the base of the falls to grab them. Is there a line through the slot, or is it a plan B?

Send a message via Yahoo to Gary E
ACC, the level was so high I only had 2 stokes before the notch. No eddies, so I had to give it. Tommy has run the notch and was fine much lower. I think the other 5 have taken out above it. Hit the notch perfect and still got beatin pretty hard in there, then got out of the notch and flipped coming out and took a few head shots that kept me from recovering and rolling and swam in the falls, in the gorge 50 yards below.

LOL, at my comments at the end. I haven't seen that part Brian. Round 2 later in the year.
