New to San Juan region

I just moved down to Durango from Fort Collins, and wondering what you can still run around this area (if anything) that is worthwhile, in a kayak or raft. Just did Westwater and might be grabbing a cataract permit soon, but seeing if there is really anything worth paddling nearby.

I'm in denial that paddling season is ending..

Well. The Town Run is always fun. A sunny 78 degree day like today is really fun. The San Juan River is a few hours away and the upper section is kinda like a Ruby type run ( permit required) Lots available.
Some Crazy Class V Kayakers get into the Pandora's Box and the lower Upper Animas this time of year. I would suggest NOT doing this unless you have someone that has done it before. It requires some gnarly climbs in and out ( rappelling)

About 4 years ago we had a flooding rains in Durango that took the Animas from 252cfs to over 8000cfs. Maybe we'll have that again!!
Welcome to Durango.
