new ad scheme makes me want to leave mountainbuzz

enough is enough.

the changeover was ok. it didnt affect anything too much, everything was still good.

the new layout was ok, it was confusing at first, but got better once it was cleaned up.

but these new ads built right into the page that pop up the advertisements.....i grow weary and frustrated with these useless pieces of shit. i used to get a shiver of excitement when i clicked on the MtnBuzz tab on my browser, as i knew it was time to talk boating in a easy-to-navigate and eye-pleasing format and get to hear the latest word. Now every time i click on it I cringe as I know on EVERY DAMN POST i read there's some annoying yellow link, sometimes multiple, that pop up completely useless crap in my way! i dont really want to leave but i cant stand this much longer

its not even ads that ANYBODY on the buzz would consider partaking in anyway. come on, at least throw a prop out to Liquid Logic or something, not some random travel site

Hey Yeti, I hear where you're coming from. Check this out: https://www.mountainbuzz.com/forums/f24/how-to-disable-vibrant-ads-16017.html

If you are logged in, the ads won't show up at all but doing this should make it so the ads don't even show up on your computer if you're not logged in.

Well Im glad someone else hates it too.

When i clicked on your link it says "404 Not Found".

Im glad theres a way to disable them, but it still bums me out that the buzz is reduced to having these stupid pieces of shit......

I use the "remember me" functionality when I log in. It saves a cookie in your browser so you are automatically logged in when you return.

I have never seen these ads that people have been talking about lately. I wouldn't use a login cookie for my banking website but it's just fine for the buzz.

I think ads are a good thing because they are getting the IT folks paid. I know that someone isn't just doing this for fun because it really is a pain in the ass to develop and maintain a web application. The people who do it are highly skilled and they deserve to be paid well.

I, too, use Firefox and the free version of AVG Anti-virus software and it works flawlessly for me. I'm always logged in and I never see the ads.
