We will be releasing an amount necessary to maintain the 500 cfs target base flow minimum downstream in the critical habitat reach (which includes the rafting reach through Mexican Hat). Keep in mind that the 500 cfs is an average, so it may bounce around that a bit. It's still pretty dry out there.

Feel free to call or email if you want more information.

Current flows of 600ish is plenty to float. I was out there with large group (some inexperienced) from Thursday to Sunday last week and we did'n't have any problems running the river. Biggest issues were probably getting the gear boats unstuck from the mud first thing in the morning.

Indeed. We launched on Thursday, camped at Desecration, then again at Chinle, and again at Lime Creek. Good hiking, good company, and plenty of water. Weather was nice too and virtually no bugs!

See the newer post for the press release- we are decreasing the reservoir release tomorrow to 800 cfs. This is still intended to target 500 cfs through the lower San Juan.

Call or email if you have questions.
