N. Platte River Flush

Hey all,
Looks like B.Rec is flushing the river this spring on March 22-26.
They will bump it from 500 to 4000 every day. The high water hits the play park at about 3:00 PM and goes down a little after dark.

At these higher flows the park really shines.
#1 turns into a big wave that allows blunts pretty easy
#2 Big hole/wave opens up
#3 *the highlight of the flush* BIG wave opens up most wave tricks can be thrown on it.
#4 Big big hole. Gets pretty pushy at this level. Can have a cool wave on surfers left.

Looks like it should be a good time. Bring your pogies and fleeces as the water has been sitting in a dam all winter long.

PM me if your coming up or down, I'm hoping to get out there everyday after school/work.

Also rumors have it that they are going to flush/spill Fremont Canyon this spring. This will be thee first time it runs bigger than the 75 CFS it always runs at since about 1986 or so. I have no Idea what its going to be like but it should be pretty big. I have no idea if its going to happen or not but If I hear anything I'll post it up on here.

SYOTR,
Luke

Will it be worth boating at all this coming week? I have to be in Casper all week for some job stuff. Wondering if it's worth stuffing a playboat in the truck.
I haven't run Fremont since the late '80's, but we caught it at 1500 to over 3000 a couple of times back then. Great fun.......

I would say it depends on your jonsing level. Its at 500 which still let's you get in the hole... but all you can do is flat spin and throw super low angle cartwheels.

YES! The Flush is going as planned! I just got back from looking at it(Nobody to go with) and it is primed and ready to go. It looks like it is peaking at about 6:00PM but it is good from anywhere from 3-4:00PM.
The gage we use for the whitewater park is this one.
Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service: Riverton: North Platte River at Casper
Here are some quick pics I took with my phone tonight.
#1 Big Wave

#2 Big Wave/Hole

#3 BIG Big Wave

#4 Left side Looks like a BIG Hole but looks super sweet

Everything Looks kinda small in the pictures.... The weather report looks good for the rest of the week. I plan on getting out there every night the rest of the week.
