ran it on monday the 17th and the gauge was at about 250. The run took a little over 3 hours. We used hard shell and inflatable kayaks. You could run it a little lower but that would be pushing it i would say 200 cfs on the gauge and you are good. If it is not runnig try the price from woodside down. Not as drymatic but better rapids. above 300cfs it is a great class 3 run.

Yeah there are 3-4 days worth of floating. You put in just south of 70 West of GR and drive in the first 5 miles or so after it crosses 70. That section is quite scenic and remote. Epic side hikes. A little tight at the beginning for rafts, more of a ducky, kayak or SUP run. Great riverside camping for an overnigter. Then there is the river access at Hondu Arch where you can put in for the chute. The shuttles are long but its a great place to channel your inner Hunter S Thompson desert driving skills. The put-In for Upper Muddy and the take out for the Lower Black Box are 10 minutes apart.

Any prognosticators out there want to take a stab at whether Muddy Creek will have enough water over Memorial Day Weekend?

Have you tried the NOAA site?

Looking for another boat or two to float the Muddy around May 26 from I 70 to Hanksville or the takeout above Hanksville. Would like to spend as many days as possible. Also, does anyone know of a shuttle service for the Muddy?

Heading down tonight to hopefully get a run on the muddy in. Just the chute on Wed or Thurs depending on flows. If you are thinking the same let me know as a shared shuttle would be fantastic.

We won't be able to drive to the Muddy until Wednesday evening or later and would like to run the Muddy from I 70 to the take-out below Hidden Splendor Mine Rd. We are hoping to float for 4-5 days in this 50 mile stretch. If this sounds good to you let us know. You can email us at [email protected]
