Muddy Creek, Utah

A friend and I are heading out to Utah next week and if the flow stays
up on Muddy Creek, we are planning to paddle The Chute on Saturday,
June 12. It would be nice to hook up with some other paddlers for the
shuttle. If anyone is interested or is going to be there, let me know.
For those that might not know of this run, it is an easy Class II
paddle, but has a long shuttle. Also, I have searched, with no luck,
for a paddlers group in Utah to post to. Anyone know of one?

You might want to try the message board to hook up on a shuttle, for what its worth. I know people are paddling it and looking to work out the shuttle aswell

If you looking for whitewater the boxes of the San Rafel is the best in the area, probably the state. Its a commiting 4-5 box canyon with 1-2 portages. One of the sweetest desert runs in the west. Can be done in one long day or is typically run as an overnighter. The flows are currently based off estimates, as there has apparently been a problem with the gauges.

If you like the muddy, you might want to consider the Little Grand Canyon of the San Rafel. This is the run just upstream of the Black Boxes run, Class 1, super sweet, really pretty, can be done in one day.

The water in Utah has brought alot of these run back to life, but won't last long a ruff guess is that most thing are peaking or have peaked and are slowly turning down.
