Montana Smith R. Creeks?

Any Montana boaters out there? are there any creeks that are runnable in the Smith river drainage (the 60 mile run down from camp baker) like the tenderfoot? gradient or grade? I looked on AW but know info.Thanks.

Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions

Never heard of any creeking on the Smith, but sure enough looks like there might be some ~1 mi. of roadside drops in the 120ft/mi range. Looks like the last drop might be vertical but with some wood as of whenever the satellite image was taken. If you check it out let us know how it goes.

Pretty sure that's the same falls glendo. Look at the little outcrop sticking into the waterfall and the long lead in tongue down the right just different angle.

We will check it out this summer Glenn you don't worry, the 6 or so drops up stream look Ike they could have some fun stuff. Maybe a sieve in the upper little tight on if you see what I see
Maybe next weekend say fuck it hike over the pass and run the smith out is that legal? If its private land we gotta go up river from the smith

Look at the vid and see how much volume would need to be present to make the water wall to wall like in the photo. Easily 1000cfs probably more like 2000cfs, and that would make the tongue in the picture around 6 feet deep. Sure doesn't look that juicy to me.

I've been wrong before though, so it probably is the same falls.

Looks pretty close to the photo brother there's only about 150 cfs in that picture look at the pool not a lot of airation. Looks fun if it has some water. It will be a sweet boof in a kayak.
Ps turn the photo so the trees are straight up and you will see that it's not so much vertical as in the photo..

Pretty sure you don't need a permit to float the smith, permits are for camping spots. A lot of private land but as long as your in the water, git some.
