middle fork of the salmon question

Is there any way to get out in the last 2/3 or so of the trip? Is indian the last chance? Just wondering, because we have a passenger who wants to go, but needs to be home (ft collins) for a wedding, the day we plan on taking out. Is there hope for him yet?? Thanks in advance.

the only option-

would be for him to paddle out a day or so ahead of the group. i've done from big loon down in a day (usually the last 2-3 days of the trip) and it wasn't bad at all. if your friend is a solid boater and can have a car at the takeout, there's no reason he can't paddle out and drive home.

not an option, he is a passenger. is floating out ahead of the group illegal or would we be out of the permit zone? i guess if one of the rafts wanted to give up a day and take him out ahead, why not let 'em?? the main reason we want the extra day or two is so we can do layovers. this would put us further up canyon which may hose the float out plan all together. thanks for the info. zach

Fly out

There are options for flying out. Loon Creek has a strip and so does Flying B. The Forest service should have the contacts or try blackadar boating in Salmon Idaho for numbers. The flight is as thrilling as the river.

Jealous,

Hey Zach,

Is that a photo of a Narwhale in your avatar?

Give a call about this weekend,
