M-Wave Report?

Getting close to M-Wave season and the gauge is showing the wave should be in and prime. Anyone down in GJ or Montrose provide eyes on the ground? Don't want to make the drive and find a trashy hole.

Thanks!

TJ

I talked to my buddy who was recently there, he said it was prime.

Couple things I noticed Saturday.
The road downstream from the bridge was a lake. The rancher put up a new wood fence instead of the metal pipes and someone has already carved a stupid asshole statement into it. There was a lot of trash in the sage brush.
The user group for the M-wave is small and I know there are other people out there than just kayakers, but kayakers are usually the only ones parked there for extended periods of time. Every time I have interacted with the locals they have been really nice and don't mind us being there. I can see that changing quickly if place gets trashed and property is being damaged. Rant over. Oh, and the wave was great.

Yo Nathan -- Thanks for the update, really appreciated. I usually make a point of picking up any crap people leave behind from camping and stuff and I hope others do the same. There is a good amount of local traffic and everyones cool. Let's keep it that way.

Strictly speaking from a non-paddler's/layman's perspective here, but why not spread out the parking and be willing to hike a mile or more to get to M-Wave? Just be discreet.

And who cares that people discuss it here. If anything, it's a decoy they put in the New Testament, so Kyle can continue running the W-Wave with his leet crew.

Went down to the wave on Monday and it was really good. However, the water has definitely been cut and dropped almost 200 CFS at the very end of the day while we were there. Hopefully it comes back up to where it was and isn't done for the season.
