Lyons River Festival Info (good time!)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The City of Lyons announces the Lyons River Roar river festival. Lyons, CO -, 2004 The City of Lyons will hold the first Lyons River Roar the weekend of June 12-13. Lyons plans to make this an annual event. Major sponsors include the Lyons Chamber of Commerce and Oskar Blues/Dales Pale Ale. The River Roar is a Colorado Cup whitewater rodeo series event. The Colorado Cup crowns an overall winner based on the standings of paddlers in the six largest whitewater festivals in the state. In addition to the rodeo, events include the 5-7 km Hare Brain Race (similar to a hare and hound running race), a downriver race, and a first-of-its-kind BoaterCross Relay race. The first team to complete 4 full laps is the winner. Cash and merchandise will be awarded to the winners of all events. The entry fee for any number of whitewater events is $20.
