Lucky Charm Spray Skirt

Anyone have any thoughts on the IR Lucky Charm spray skirt? I'm more concerned about it staying on rather than it being completely dry.

I just bought one and hope I'm not making a mistake... I'll be using it primarily with a Remix 59 if anyone has any experience using one on that particular boat.

The Lucky Charm is a great skirt and will be awesome on your Remix. The stretchy neoprene allows it to stretch if you go deep and the rubber rand locks down around the cockpit making it even more difficult to implode. You should be happy with this skirt!

I have two IR skirts. One is the special K and the other is a bungee rand (lower quality than lucky charm). I have used them both (not at same time) on a remix 69. I have not encountered any problems with them staying on the boat. The rubber rand special k is drier than the bungee rand though. The only place where water gets in is at the bolts for the thigh braces. This only happens when rolling.

this skirt should have no problems staying on your remix.

but keeping you completely dry for the long haul is another story: new ir skirts are great, until they fall apart at the seams after a year or so... i haven't had the chance to check out the lucky charm, so it may be different than other ir skirts i have owned. i had a special k and within about 25 days of use water would leak through the many seams of the skirt. i was always baffled as to why they have so many seams in their skirts. if you look at a snap dragon they have one seam that connects the deck to the tunnel, and it is sewn on plus has seam tape on both sides. now that makes sense.

again, maybe i'm wrong about the lucky charm and it is a new and improved ir design.

IR has re-vamped their skirt line in the last two years. Using a higher quality rand, neoprene, and seam tape. The bungee skirts have also been upgraded- the Lucky Charm will work great on your remix!

I paddled a IR Lucky Charm all last season and it was super dry and has held up really great. The extra ribs on the rand are not just for pleasure but really do make it very dry.

i'm glad to hear that ir re-vamped their skirt line. overall i think that ir is an awesome company that is run by incredible people!

Just a question, how do Snapdragons (with implosion bars) compare to the IR line-up? I always thought that the Snapdragons were the least likely to implode since they were stiffer, but everyone seems to be raving about how stretchy the IR skirts are.
