Lower South Boulder Beta

I have a group of good boaters who want to do Lower South Boulder Creek tomorrow. The problem is none of us have done it before. So either we need a guide or we need some additional beta on these 3 class V's everyone keeps talking about.

How far down are each of them, what landmarks should we look for when we're approaching them, what sides are the portage trails on? Or is it just completely obvious which are the big ones and where to portage?

It's been a while. We ran it without a guide or prior knowledge, we kept a heads up but the Vs were obvious... we probably got out and looked when uncertain. If I remember correctly, the first two portages are on the left and the last is on the right. That said, when I ran it the Moist Slot kind of snuck up on us, look for the bridge I think. The others were more obvious.

I portaged all 3, but some chose to run the 1st and last V. The middle one looks gnarly.

Moist slot is just after passing under a footbridge. The bottom one is obvious with a big pool and what feels like a big drop below...any remember the intro the middle one.

May be a little low if I'm not mistaken. We paddled it at 400 and I was thinking 350 might be my bottom limit.

A group of two are meeting at Eldo around 8:30 this morning. I've ran it before if you are looking for two extra in the group. Might make an easier shuttle??

nice to get out on SBC. It doesn't run very often. Today was 250 and still low by many standards. With 160 flowing through El Dorado the run out wasn't that bad. The dam drop was quite perfect today.

Changing my minimum flow to 350 after today.
