Lower Blue update

All,
Just a head's up as you plan your weekend:

Inflows to the reservoir have been slowing down and the water elevation is at about 7949--one foot below completely full. As a result, we have been cutting back releases from Green Mountain Dam to the Lower Blue over the past week. Going into the weekend, the Lower Blue will be running around 850 cfs. It is possible the releases might cut back some more over the weekend.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns regarding Green Mountain.

Best,
Kara

thanks for all the great updates on this amazing stretch of H20. This is one of my favorite class III runs in the area and the high flows are not to be missed.

Lower Blue

Grandyoso and all,
Sorry I didn't have info yesterday, but I do today. Releases from Green Mountain Dam to the Lower Blue will DROP today by 50 cfs. The change will be made in the early afternoon.

By late afternoon/early evening, flows in the Lower Blue will be around 800 cfs. That 800 is most likely going to stay through the weekend, unless there is a major change in the weather.

Have a good weekend!
Best,
Kara

Good work Kara! Glad to have you repping our little agency! Us here on the Western side could use someone like you to deal with our government conspiracy-thinking fly fisherpeople on the San Juan. Oh, I love my job!!

Lower Blue dropping more

All,
Yesterday, Sunday July 27, we dropped releases from Green Mountain to the Lower Blue by 200 cfs. That put 600 cfs in the river early this morning.

Today, we are dropping AGAIN. We will cut releases back by another 100 cfs.

That means by late this afternoon, we'll be running about 500 cfs out of the dam to the Lower Blue.

I expect, as inflows continue to drop off, we'll see it drop even more this week.

Best,
Kara

Big T

Kara,
Any idea how long the Big T will continue to run. This has been the best year I have seen on that gem!
Thanks,
Arn

Lower Blue continues to drop

All,
And we're dropping the Lower Blue by another 100 cfs today. Inflows are really dropping off. Run-off is finally wrapping up.

That means by late this afternoon, we'll have about 400 cfs in the Lower Blue.

Arn--I'll have a Big T update later today, I think.

Best,
Kara
