Lower Blue

A couple of friends and myself fished the Lower Blue on Tuesday May 20th. Fishing was good as we landed 15 fish with 6 of them over 20"!!!

The main reason for my post is to let people know that there is a large tree across the river after the second weir before you start to see the houses at spring creek. The line is usually river right but you must go river left. Should be no problem as the depth of the water for the river left line is a couple of feet (at 800 CFS) deep. You'll see it in plenty of time to adjust, bring a chainsaw and rope and take care of the issue if you have the time. Someone keep me posted on the status of the tree as I do this section quite often and if it's not taken care of I'll get it next time I go. It is on private land but it needs to be taken care of.

It looks like it just fell over but who knows, maybe some property owner is trying to take matters into their own hands.....?

We got them everywhere. The 20" of course on the ranch.

The water clarity was mediocre. You could see the bottom but it wasn't gin clear like it is in the summer months. It is raining now so I'm sure that will throw it off a bit. Certainly fishable though!!!
