lost brand new 0 deg werner carbon on gore w/ edge protector

My bro took a horendous (sp?) swim at gore rapid, ending with a trip to the hospital. His boat & paddle are still in there, If you find a zero deg. carbon sidekick with door edge protector on the blades, please shoot me an email. It was brand new & didn't have his name on it yet.

Thanks,

Kaleb

I'd be happy to trade a good quantity of beer of your choice as a bounty!

Boat and paddle

As of last Sunday there was a boat was in a protected pocket of water (upright with no possibility of moving unless there is a flood) on river right below Pyrite and above Tunnel. I will be more specific if you pm me with the name/brand/color of the boat. We also saw the paddle in an eddy above Pyrite on river left - we tried to recover it but weren't able to (not sure if it was the paddle you are talking about). It may have since washed down - sorry that we weren't able to put it with the boat. We are doing a practice run tomorrow and would be able to carry you down to your/your friends boat if you want to paddle it out.

I am leaving for the gore race later today so either send me an e-mail soon or find me at the race if you need info/help. I am the captain of the Lost Paddle raft team. My name is Sean Davis, I am 6'5", glasses, and drive a white Tacoma truck and I have a blue hyside raft that says "Timberwolf" on the front.

I lost a red throw bag that fits a Mongo harness last Sunday on Gore - If anyone finds that please return it to me.

Hey Scott,

Yikes! I hope you are doing better. We boated together a couple of years ago on Foxton/Waterton with Kaleb. I flipped in lower Gore with Kaleb on Saturday, maybe he's bad luck (only kidding Kaleb). Glad I had an FNA helmet, that thing saved my jaw.

Hope you get better soon,
Rick

thanks for the replies guys. glad to hear the paddle might still be kicking around up there.

there's nothing special about what happened that would add to anybody's knowledge or safety level... just the same old thing- it's preferable to paddle better and/or walk than to get jacked up. i got jacked up because i was in the water and didn't paddle better.

please let us know if you find my sidekick this weekend; thanks!

actually, there is one thing that i want to add.

Duke Bradford, owner of Arkansas Valley Adventures (AVA), and his crew saved my life.

this is no exaggeration or bullshit; if they hadn't been there and been on the situation the way they were, then i wouldn't have come out.

i was lucky that they were there, and i can't say enough about what they did for me.
