About a month ago I decided to get on the river for the first time this season. I got a couple friends together and headed to do the grizzly to glenwood run. The river was low but still was a good run cloudy day but warm. We took our time enjoying the scenery and made our last stop at the hot pools just before glenwood. After looking at the pools for a while we boarded the boat. Manny(29 yo) was the first to get in locking his feet into the foot straps, than just dropped feet still hooked on. I am a medic and had a crew that knew cpr, we pulled him out of the water. Manny had no resperations or a pulse, we did cpr till glenwood fire showed and called him. Found out a couple days later manny had an acending aorta tear( his aorta ripped of his heart) there was nothing any one could do.
I am posting this story for two reasons one is I put up a memorial at the pools where manny passed(pay your respects if you want). The other is to remind everyone life is short enjoy every minute
