Looking for whitewater safety class recommendations along Front range

Poudre, Ark, or CO. I need it to cover rafting mainly since that is what I mainly do now. Any good advice.

Thanks

I took Downstream Edge's 2 day course last May and thought it was a great course and experience. They offer various rafter orientated courses as well as kayaking...We did the course on Waterton canyon but the location varies based on run-off conditions.

I have been curious about this too. My group and I have been paddling for a few years now, some longer, and have read several book on river safety/rescue, should we sign up for the SWR Level 1 class?

Thanks
Andy

My certification was level 4 SWR. I consider myself about a class 3 boater. Most of the folks in my class were much more experienced than myself and they had positive feedback. If you've got a few years experience I would recommend a two day class over 1 day. I've taken one day classes and most aspects of SWR don't get enough coverage.
That being said, once you take the class you've got to practice the skills to keep em fresh.
I noticed on the downstream edge site that they are offering a two day level 2 rafting course. I am not sure about the differences between a level 4 and level 2 courses??

If you take the 2 day course, consider bringing a type 5 rescue vest.

I was thinking about a 2 day course, but what do the levels mean? I kayaked a fair number of IV's over the years and have rafted mainly III's. I am not looking for much beginner stuff unless it is specifically related to rescue.

The level's are the amount of information that is covered in each class from simple (2) to complex (5), here Safety & Rescue Courses - American Canoe Association is a link to the ACA's breakdown.

It looks like Downstream Edge is ok, but I cannot even find a way to contact them to get more info about their classes. Any other Front Range recommendations? There must be a few other good options.
