Let's see your harness setups

Planning a paddling trip this winter that has a 9 mile hike in. I'll be carrying a large jackson karma (ouch!) and gear. I have a hunting backpack that's basically a frame that I plan on using. Does anyone have any other recommendations? I need all the stoke I can get for this... hahahaha

scratch that. Hunting pack won't work. Just set it up with empty boat and it started to tear at the straps.

Lots of different setups, from pool noodles to packs that are made. Here is an article showing one setup:

Where Is Baer ?: Hiking in sucks! How to build a kayak backpack system and a couple of fun New Zealand rivers.

Use the search for kayak backpack and there are a few more threads. I would be interested in any of the manufactured ones are worth it.

I have an unused Yaksling (made by Yakworks about 6-7 years ago) that is comfortable and keeps the boat stable while scrambling around. PM me if interested and I'll send pix.

Thanks, I think I either need to figure out a wheel setup that I can transport inside the boat (with a bunch of camping gear, so maybe a bad idea) or build some type of harness. I think a shoulder sling setup with 70lbs+ of weight and 9 miles of distance is a bad idea. So far the Salamander setup looks best but I think I can build my own for less than $100...

If anyone has any how-to links I'd love to see them.
