Latex neck-rash relief

Anyone have any suggestions about how to prevent neck-rash stemming from a latex gasket on a dry top? I'm one of those weird neck-beard people and everytime i paddle i have a nice pretty red guillotine neck-rash line across my neck. My top feels comfortable when I wear it but it'd be nice to not have look like I've tried to slit my own throat for a day or two after i'd paddled. Anyone else have this problem? I'm new to paddling so this may be a dumb question but remember there are no dumb questions, only dumb people. Any suggestions that i could try would be great, thanks

I've ran into the same problem last trip and had a nice red line on my neck. Have you tried Vaseline?

Don't use vaseline it will destroy latex and you'll end up replacing your gaskets. Try a non-petroleum based lube.

Get you some Seal Saver and put that on the inside and mush it all around before you put on your top. That did the trick for me.

I just avoid latex neck gaskets. IR makes a great semi-drytop. I find it to be as dry as any latex-necked drytop I've owned, and way more comfortable.

Try one of the new sheepskin neck gaskets. That should take care of that rash.

I second what Paul said. The IR tops are way more comfy, and almost just as dry as latex, without the chafing.
