Lake Fork of the Gunnison

Could it really be true? As of now the gauge is reading 486cfs, I have boated the Lake Fork at this level and it was kinda fun. Does anyone know if the gate is open to the take out? If I wake up tomorrow and the gauge is still reading water I'm going! I'll let ya all know how it goes. Link below

am very confused by this myself. the gunnison itself is still bone low and only broke open this week. similar drainages (unc, cim, suhgwatch, coch, rio g head) are still low low low. HIGHLY doubt its flowing. gauge error is my guess. ice dam + backing up waters perhaps? Or is lake san cristobal suddenly draining? Any lake cityans got some info?

Strange I know. I really hope it is running and not just a head fake, but either way I'm driving out tomorrow and checking it out (hopefully running it). Last I checked it was running near 800cfs, and according to the graph its been flowing the past 10+ days.

I was up in Lake City working last week and from the highway what you could see was only open in a few spots. Barely open in those places.

That's what I'm expecting...so there is no way that the dam at San Cristobal is spilling over some water? I guess there was always that fools hope.

Sorry but no. I doubt the river is even conpletely opened up. One of four gates is open at the lake. It looks like they are barely keeping the fish alive.

Thanks for the beta!
When I woke this morning and the gauge read well over 2000cfs I knew it was either a late Christmas miracle, or a miss read gauge. BUMMER
