Kayaking with out hands.

This is a guy I am working with so he can kayak. Hand paddling is amazing, and even with no hands it can be done. Sam is an amazing person, and seems like a natural in the water. Look out for this guy he is headed for great things. Sam contacted me through a friend of his wanting to learn to kayak. With a little bit of ingenuity, and welding he has hand paddles that work with his prosthetics.

Too cool! Do let us know when he gets on the river.
Any pics of his hand paddles?
Are his prosthetics waterproof, or does he have to use some special "water" prosthetics?
I'm diggin' the tattoo decals on his prosthetics.

PM me your PayPal address. I'd like to have you buy him a beer or three from me.

I've seen a guy paddle some impressive stuff with a prosthetic hook. It's cool they can charge like everybody else.

Share these links with Sam. I volunteered as a safety boater for the Veteran's Golden Age Games a few years ago and met the CEO's of both. TRR is an impressive organization.

If you need any help with your friend, I'd be glad to help. I've created lots of adaptive devices for people ranging from having no limbs to being blind or other disabilities.
Great work finding ways to get him on the river.
