There have been many popular creek races over the years, the Green, Payette, Callaghan, Sickline etc. Now we are starting to see a definite emergence of races all over the globe. Could it be that Creek Racing will help gain exposure for whitewater kayaking. Freestyle events are amazing for competitors and other paddlers but do they appeal as much to non paddlers? Everyone can understand a race first one down or fastest time wins, pretty clear. Freestyle can be more confusing for spectators who possibly do not appreciate the skill required to complete high scoring moves.
What do you think?
Here is a link to a recent race in Ecuador, the second of the season with more to come. Enjoy!
