I posted this to the gear section without much success. I realize that k-1 is not too popular but any help is appreciated.
Been busy changing diapers for the past few years butt, anticipating a few hall passes next year. Looking for thoughts on solid craft for K-1 playboating. Also looking for a butter-smooth K-1 paddle that can take a beating.
They do not have a k-1 paddle listed, but I'm sure they could make one. If you're looking for smooth and durable, Woody is for you. www.woodycustompaddles.com
"Believe me, my young friend, (said the water rat somlemnly), there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing...." -The Wind in the Willows
Being a C-1 enthusiast makes it tough to watch a whole thread that is errantly posted as K-1 advice. I must be right in thinking you are looking for advice on C-1 paddling.
Mitchell Premier Curved (smooth as they come)
Werner (one of the most durable on the market)
Woody Custom Paddles (I had them make one last season that was a bent shaft and did not work out but they now have a straight shaft design that is sick)
H2O Paddles (new)
Any Kayak can be converted, look for something with hull speed so you can catch waves on the fly with 1/2 the paddle of a K-1! I would recommend a ZG or something of that nature unless you are going to strickly park and play.
