Just saw the new 5.10 for next year...

It's about freakin time they came up with a new Tennie. The new boot looks awesome and I can't wait to try on a pair next season. 5.10 has built a few canyon hikes over the last few years but nothing that reall fit well in a boat. The new Tennie looks like it will fit and protect. Now the real question... Who's going to have them or be able to keep them in stock? I want a pair bad!

not super stoked on the buckle/strap system. they should just use a streamlined cam strap or something of that nature. would be way easier to put them on, and get out of them quickly if say the sole gets trapped between rocks. also seems like a logical strap for the white water world.

Don't really see how these are going to fit any better than the Canyoneer IIs.

Seems like a better rubber, but if anything I can see the reinforced toe making it harder to cram into a boat.

Nope not the SAR. That's the smaller version of the caynoneer.

I think it's just called the Tennie. (Not Sure) It looks more like the old Patagonia paddling shoes. Kind of dive shoe meets Chuck Taylors. Should be a great in your kayak shoe and a great shoe if you end up in the water. It will not be like the current boots that are out now. There're like swimming with boat anchors on.

I need to find out about the rest. 5.10 always had hands down the wet rock traction. They just got away from paddling true all purpose paddling shoes. The SAR and Canyoneers are great for rafting and scrambling, but they didn't fit well in a lot of boats. You really had to have small feet and even then you could never really flex your foot.

It's called the 5.10 Water Tennie, and it's the shizzle my nizzle.
I was fortunate to get my hands on an early development pair and yeah, they're the shit. Don's description is pretty spot on.
Available 2011, and for obvious reasons it's not on their web-site as of yet.

I love the off-season. Only the 2nd thread about paddling shoes this week (https://www.mountainbuzz.com/forums/f...oes-33814.html) but it's still early.

Nice

Thanks Mark. I was going batty trying to find them. I saw the book but didn't take note of the year on the cover. If it's 2011 I would guess online in Jan and on the shelves in March.

I'll make some calls and find out more.
