JOIN "KATIE'S KREW" AND HELP SUPPORT KATIE HILLEKE

Now there is another way to help Katie Hilleke in her battle against cancer.

If you can't afford to bid on a boat to help out, but still want to be involved, this may be the thing for you. I have put together a small store selling t-shirts with a "Katie's Krew" design on the front of the t-shirts and "boaters teaming up to make a difference" on he back. There are also "Katie's Krew" coffee mugs and bumper stickers available.

All the proceeds from sales of the items in the store will go to Katie Hilleke to help her cover costs that she has incurred in her recovery from colon cancer. And when we get those bills paid we can move on to help others fight this disease.

So if you have some Christmas money left and want to give yourself or someone you care about a gift that will make a difference in someone's life, get out your credit card and place an order.

Here's the link.

Happy holidays, and get well soon Katie!

Well done BK!!! My best to katie......

It would be nice to see a few of these at every put-in and take-out next spring.

Thanks for the positive response "GT". I am just tryin' to get the word out. I hope that we can help a fellow boater and then help her help others who are fighting the same battle.

My tee shirt is already on the way!

Merry, merry.

Proceeds from shirts

Just wanted to make sure everyone understands how this works. The website (cafepress.com) charges a base fee for each item. I then make the logo and decide which items to put it on. I then determine what the price will be.

The difference between the cost of the shirt and what the final price is will be 100% donated to Katie. I tried to make sure they were affordable and still raised a few dollars for Katie.

I have set it up so that the checks are actually made out to Katie. If this goes well and we cover Katie's expenses then Katie can use the money raised to help others in similar situations.

...and if you are still wondering, in round numbers, each clothing item makes between $5 and $7 for the cause. (coffee mugs and stickers are a couple of bucks per) I encourage anyone who wants to give more, to give directly to Katie.

You can still send donations to:

Katie Hilleke
826 Bluff Creek Club Rd
Quinton, AL 35130

Cafe Press

Thanks Mike,

We have gotten off to a strong start and I am hoping that we can keep things rolling.

Cafe Press must be having trouble with volume of orders and visits to their website as their server has crashed a time or two. If you can't get the page to work give it a try later in the day. They will be back online eventually.
