Joe Wright and Spencer Heights Beta

I have a crew going in Saturday to do both Joe Wright and Spencer, but none of us have done it before. Flows are looking/hoping to be about medium. What or where are the major issue to scout and/or know how to run.
Carnito changed, can I see it from the road?
Know the takeout for portaging the falls,
check the gorges after the falls.
What else?

If anyone is heading that way too, we'll take a guide. Spencer takeout at 10am Saturday.

Thanks

I would recommend doing Big South, then going for the triple crown (or at least finishing with Spencer Heights). That is, assuming the gate is open.

Seriously Josh, wtf. Maybe just ask the 100 people at the Big South takeout for beta and then ask yourself why you're not running Big South.

But for after running Big South,
- yes you can scout Carnito (and anything on the run) from the road.
- You can read and run the rest of Joe Wright but be heads up for wood (though I think last report was it's pretty clean).
- Know where Rocket Launcher is above the falls (or at least know it's there so when you see the horizon line you can check it out).
- Don't miss that awesome boof at the end of cyclotron (gorge below the falls)
- The only other main rapid is Boneyard that comes right after you go under the bridge. At med flows you could probably read and run it catching eddies, but if it were me I'd give it a scout. Below that there are a few drops with some decent holes, but you can read and run 'em.

As of last Sun...

Most of the Carnito changes can be scouted from the road. There's 2 significant bits of wood in JW, but they can be seen boat scouting, and there are side routes around them. Spencer has submerged wood in the LHS of Boneyard.

Thanks Marty and Kevin.

Ya BS is going, but I've got the next month to run it. I've never got on JW or SH and I've spent most the season getting new runs in. Plus the crew I'm with can only do one day and we have all done BS, but not the others.

I'm attempting to avoid the insane'ness of BS takeout, and don't really want to bother crews that are working on their own run and shuttle.
