ID flows forums

There's not really an ID-specific forum that I know of. Here's a link to a the site that always gives actual releases for N. F. Payette, Deadwood, etc: http://www.usbr.gov/pn-bin/rtindex.pl?cfg=payette Releases today were 2120 for the N. Fork, 1038 for the Deadwood, which are great levels for both. Add the S. Fork at Lowman + Deadwood to get Upper S. Fork Payette canyon flow. Those releases tend to stay steady, plus or minus a couple hundred, through Labor Day. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Man. Probably couldn't make it till sunday afternoon for Staircase and the Canyon Labor Day mon. Would like to look at the bottom of N.Fk. also. Thoughts on a first time level for it? Is it a big step up from the Canyon at this level?

both have fairly active forums, but the advice you got above is good. NF and Deadwood will run through September this year.

I did Deadwood last year at 1100 and it was enjoyable, not great, but enjoyable. If you want scenery and mellow rapids, go deadwood (all the harder ones were wood choked, except 2, one of which I walked and the other I put in below a log and enjoyed the long runout). The shuttle is long and fairly rough.

If you want action, strap on a big pair and put in on the NF.

SF Canyon & Staircase are a good play runs and they're running slightly higher than normal for this time of year which is a good thing.
