Agreed....it really is pretty easy (messy...but easy). You'll probably do a better job than someone at a shop because it's your own stuff.
I sent my kokatat drytop in and it came back repaired....but it only lasted two seasons before I had to replace them again. Did it myself...took my time....and it came out good as new. That was 5 years ago and still going strong.
Its just a drytop. Nothing special and your just using glue that can be removed. The only sizing issue would be the size of base and size of the neck hole that your head goes through. You can't screw it up unless you cut the drytop (which can be patched from the inside) or put fire to it. It's not rock surgery. I can't tell you how ugly my first neck job was. But it worked. I cleaned it up to the material two years later and now it looks pro job! I wish I had seen the video first. Now I do all my friends stuff for beer. Just take your time and get the right stuff together. You'll pro job it and be making beers in no time at all.
