I need to put new gasskets on a Patagonia Nemo jacket.

The local Guru claims they are a bit different sized than standard. Anyone done one and have any tricks?

Anyone had one done and been happy? I'm happy to overnight it to get this done. When the local guy starts with disclaimers on my nicest piece of equipement, it makes me nervous.

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

To whomever moved this

Can you please leave it on the main board for 24 hours. It is a unique enough question it won't get answered if you stick it on the board no one uses.

Thanks

I will put it back, but it is certainly a gear topic. No more important than the other drysuit threads out there right now...

gear talk gets lots of use, just mostly by rafters these days....

Agreed....it really is pretty easy (messy...but easy). You'll probably do a better job than someone at a shop because it's your own stuff.

I sent my kokatat drytop in and it came back repaired....but it only lasted two seasons before I had to replace them again. Did it myself...took my time....and it came out good as new. That was 5 years ago and still going strong.

I've done others before.

I was specific on the brand and model because the guy at the local shop claims it has a unique neck gasket. I'll just role with it and see if it comes out.

It has been so bomber I just don't want to screw it up.

Its just a drytop. Nothing special and your just using glue that can be removed. The only sizing issue would be the size of base and size of the neck hole that your head goes through. You can't screw it up unless you cut the drytop (which can be patched from the inside) or put fire to it. It's not rock surgery. I can't tell you how ugly my first neck job was. But it worked. I cleaned it up to the material two years later and now it looks pro job! I wish I had seen the video first. Now I do all my friends stuff for beer. Just take your time and get the right stuff together. You'll pro job it and be making beers in no time at all.

PS: use the neck gasket for OS systems drytops!

Reference link to using OS on patagonia!

I'll post before and after pics.

Myers, you can move this over or nuke it now.

Good on ya! Fixing your gear is a solid skill that takes practice and a little risk every now and then.
