hey playboaters, don't be so serious!
Have to say, while surfing on my little towns wave, having a grand time despite the water dropping and all, I couldn't help but notice the out of town playboater, who was amazing, ripping it up, staying on the wave for a long long while, shredding it up, pulling all the rad moves, not waiting for anyone to dawdle on up to the wave, getting on there over and over, not waiting for the rest of us to take our time.....never smiling, grimacing and cursing to himself when he didn't pull off whatever radness he felt he should have....don't be so dang serious! Some of us can pull all the moves, some of us are learning and are afraid to even get out there at all, some of us can surf and play and appear to know what we are doing....but really, we're all in it for the fun right? Whether its for adrenaline, camaraderie, coolness, fitness, participation in natural beauty, or just good clean river fun, fundamentally the river should take us to "that happy place" right? So, stop and say hey to the other boaters, be courteous, give the newbies some time on the wave to figure it out, let yourself smile, better yet, let yourself laugh at yourself when you goof the move and have to roll or god forbid even swim, and please......don't be SO cool, it gets in the way of the fun....just have fun and be chill, you guys know who you are.
