Headed for bozeman

Moving to Montana. Does any one have any beta on rivers around bozeman or is there a guide such as CRC for MT?

You'll love Bozeman. It's a great town with lots of backcountry access. The paddling is decent, but just make sure you have a few other summertime activities. The local class III/IV play run is 30 minutes away and there is an 8 mile III/IV roadless run an hour away that runs year round. Lots of creekin within a three hour drive too. Check out Montana Surf, it's a great guidebook. www.montanasurf.com

Lots

You'll have some good choices within 2-3 hours, everything from steep creeks to epic play. I was up there a couple of years ago and it is beautiful country. Boulder, E. Rosebud, Stillwater, Big T, Sweetwater, Clark's fork, Yellowstone are just a few within a reasonable drive.

There is a healthy boating community up there too. Enjoy.

It's the shit!

There's ton's of water, and it a cool ass town. Most of the boating you have to be willing to drive, but boazeman is a central location for a ton of shit. The town has a ton of boaters and a young atmosphere.

Thanks guys! I am quite excited about the move. Figured there had to be some boating up there but the maps and brochures mostly mention fishing. Raise your glasses to another four years + in college.
