Has anyone paddled with stitches?

I had stitches in the bottom of my foot on Tuesday. A group of friends are paddling tomorrow (saturday). Has anyone else paddled this soon after stitches? or am I going to regret this?

Until the stiches are out, they are nothing more than a highway for infection past your skin. Unless your booties are a lot cleaner than mine, I'd wait.

Yes. Smart? No, but if you want it bad enough and the cut wasnt too deep then cover stitches and affected area with sterile bandage, then duct tape it, sealing all the bandage and stitch area. Dont let the tape touch any of the stitches or surrounding area or will not enjoy taking the tape off.

If you can leave your foot at home go, if not stay home till it heals.

It was a surgical incision so it is a nice cut. I have water proof bandages. The river is at a really great level that I might not see again until June...lots of play features. I might get on the river and find it hurts too much anyways and bail. I am not worried about infection because I will definately protect it. I am only worried about ripping them out....sooo, back to my first question. Is there anyone out there that has paddled with stitches?

No I've never paddled with stitches. How many do you have? What is the nature of your wound?
