Just wondering why the PETT toilets are not approved on most rivers.

I wonder that too. The standard groover is certainly more durable, but isn't the PETT system durable enough?

I think the reason pett bags are not allowed is that you would have to throw the bags full of solid waste into a garbage can, while waste in traditional groovers can go to a sewage treatment facility.

Aren't WAG bags landfill approved? I guess sewage treatment is still better. Why is this the concern of the land/river management agency? The landfills aren't on their land. I'm not trying to be ecologically insensitive, but it's an interesting rule for them to enforce. I usually just dump my groover out on my boss' front yard anyway...

and we know that nobody ever throws disposable diapers into the trash...oh wait...well, there certainly are a LOT more boaters than babies using disposables...ummm...never mind.

I don't think throwing babies in the trash is appropriate at all! They should be recycled.
