Green Mountain and Lower Blue

All,
I'm getting a couple of inquiries a day, so I thought I'd let you all know that we are still releasing around 400 cfs to the Lower Blue.

I am not sure what to expect this month. The past several years, we've seen downstream Colorado River calls come on at the end of August, bumping our releases to the Lower Blue up. Those calls usually last through September. But, with the full reservoirs this summer and the rain we've had, I'm not sure what will happen. It could be we will not see our releases increase above the 500 cfs range until September.

I'll be out of the office most of this week at public meetings down on the Lower Arkansas. If you need to reach me, try my cell at (970) 215-9545.

Best,
Kara

I was wrong, again! 700 cfs in Lower Blue

As is typical, as soon as I predict something, the direct opposite happens:

All,
If you've been watching the gage, you most likely noticed that yesterday we bumped releases from Green Mountain to the Lower Blue up by 150 cfs, bringing it to 550 cfs.

This morning, Thursday, we bumped releases up again by another 150 cfs. Currently, we are releasing 700 cfs to the Lower Blue.
This release is anticipated to remain through the weekend and into next week.

Please let me know if you have any related questions or concerns. It's easiest to reach me via cell phone today at (970) 215-9545.

Best,
Kara

More news on Green Mountain:
We are currently releasing about 740 from Green Mountain to the Lower Blue. It sounds like that is going to stay in place through the weekend and into the top of next week.

Please feel free to call or e-mail if you have additional questions.

Best,
Kara

All,
The 735 (approximate) cfs we are releasing to the Lower Blue from Green Mountain should continue through this weekend until, at least, next Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Have a good weekend,
Kara
