Grand Junction PP?

I'm heading out to Grand Junction in a few days. I know they have a park out there but don't know anything about it. Anyone know if its flowing? What are the features like? How many? Thanks!

There isn't a play park in Junction. Glenwood springs, but its too low.

Okay, so 5th street is not currently in right now. However we have a new set of awesome play waves just above the 29rd bridge. There are a series of around 7 play features depending on the flows. These are awesome waves that have reasonable eddy access, you can get to them via park and play and you don't have to deal with the legality issues of accessing 5th street. if you want someone to show them and need some one to boat with feel free to hit me up I am out there nearly every afternoon. PS. Glenwood is defiantly not to low right now. Its not a perfect wave at this level but still fun and kind of rowdy right now I spent several hours there this weekend.

Heidi,
Thanks so much for the great info! I will definitely hit you up if I end up with time to boat on my trip. Depending on how it goes, I'm not sure if I'l hit up the waves in Grand Junction or the Glennwood wave on my way back to Denver. In your opinion which is currently at better flows?
Thanks,

Hi,
Im heading into town this weekend. Anyone know if the 29rd features are still in? if so where do you park? I would like to get out and play a little while in town and it sounds like this is the only feature in town. I am a little unclear of access that is not private.

thanks for the help!

There is a dirt parking lot on the west side of 29 rd north of the river across from the bike path. Use the bike path to walk to the river (east) Put in in the little channel and float down to the upper waves for front surf. The set of waves below that are better for sidesurf but are a bit shallow with exception of the bottom wave river left. Can be retentive at times, but so far seems clean (we've rolled clean several times so far with good results) although may be shallow on the up river side. To take out drift down to the bridge and take out below the white vinyl fence. Stay along the wesr side of the fence and walk back to your vehicle. Be careful crossing the road. Likely go tomorrow or Monday so pm if you want company.
