Grand Canyon.... Where is the collection of heart shaped rocks?

Just got off a great trip. Wanted to see the collection of heart shaped rocks. Asked most of the river runners we met and several rangers but no one knew where it was. Anyone know??

Haven't heard of a heart-shaped rock collection in Grand Canyon. There is one at Winkle Bar on the Rogue River, next to Zane Gray's cabin. That's the only one I know of.

I'm pretty sure I have seen pictures of that here on the buzz, but not sure where it is... I think it is in the Canyon.

I think it's more like once you start to see them, you notice them everywhere, rather than any one place being a little mecca. Once someone pointed them out to me, I started to notice them on pretty much all desert rivers...I also noticed a lot of heart shaped cacti while on my Grand trip a few years back (note my avatar: ).

They are in back of the 220 camps. I've got a picture of it, but don't see how to insert one here. Can someone advise?

You have to click the post reply button, not the quick reply. Then click the choose file button where it says "add video" It doesn't have to be a video if I'm correct. I'll throw in a photo just to see if that works.

Never mind, that didn't work.

Looks like it has grown some.... Is it in the canyon behind the 220 camps? Or at one of the specific sites?

Does anyone know the story behind the rocks??? .... found some place else that.... "Apparently, a couple (who has 60 trips between them) started the tradition years ago. Now, people that have been down before and know what's up bring rocks with them that they've found elsewhere in the canyon to add the collection... "

true?
