Grand Canyon Packrafting

We did a Grand trip a month ago in packrafts. Here's a blog post from the trip:

Beautiful. Thanks for the time and effort that went into putting that together.

thansk for sharing! I am curious as to what you guys figured out for a fire pan that worked with the packrafts? I was trying to plan a GC packraft trip, and was getting stumped by a firepan that meets regs.. cheers!

We had a custom made prototype pan. I believe the plan is for it to be produced and sold by the American Packraft Association. Previously, another guy had a welder make something up, but it was WAY heavier. Hopefully our pan will make it to the real world, it was awesome.

I made one that's 8 lbs and meets all Grand requirements and is fully functional. How much does yours weigh?

I think this one was 3.5#, but the designer had already figured out a way to knock it down to ~3# before our trip was over.
