Gore... Where was everyone?

4 of us drove to Gore Saturday from Steamboat in one truck. We met up with 3 other guys at the put-in from Winter Park, but didn't actually put on til after noon. No other boaters around for shuttle, but our drivers hitched back up to the put-in road & walked from there. We had fun! I was just wondering where everyone else was. I'd much rather paddle Gore @ just under 900cfs than hang out in the dust all day. Thoughts?

No swimmers out of the 7, even though Tunnel was a mean bitch. Props to the guy in the yellow Habitat wearing elbowpads as a helmet because it was left in the shuttle car!

You can't just say that and not provide a picture.

Can you believe it, hojo, I didn't even take a camera down. I just wanted to enjoy paddling for a change. It's been so few and far between each trip this summer!

Most of the Gore locals were in the Crystal Gorge on Saturday.

Crystal, I wish... too far for a quick day trip. Did they get the big log out of the inner gorge?

It was a SATURDAY... not much else going on! I just thought it was funny. I've been on Gore alone a lot, but that is usually really late season (September - November). I was just surprised that nobody was around. We took our time on the river and had a great time. We saw one black bear above Gore Rapid, and two people fishing below Kirsh.

It is not unusual to have the whole place to yourself. Where are the commercial trips? Are they still running the Clear Creek and the Eagle? When is the Gore canyon zip line / Rapid improvement project going to be be a completed? I am always interested in sharing a shuttle...612.710.1462 Elbow pads and tape for a helmet is probably safe?
