FINAL NOTES TO PARTICIPANTS… PLEASE READ!

Race Site Impacts:
The BLM requires us, as race organizers, to monitor impacts at the race site, including environmental, parking and traffic as well as other ancilliary activities. By doing this we avoid additional staffing and cost recovery fees from the BLM. Your cooperation in all of these areas is greatly appreciated and will help ensure the success of this year’s and all future Gore Canyon events.

River Left and Ferry Spectator Service:
Per conference call with BLM Kremmling and Union Pacific Railroad; SPECTATORS MUST STAY RIVER LEFT!!! If you are safety and are on river right, you must be at river level. There will be a raft ferry service to get spectators across the river above Kirshbaum’s; you can hike river right from the ferry drop off location to Tunnel Falls, but must stay at river level… Let’s do this right so we can continue to have our event!!! Pass on the word…

Camping:
The usual campsites are available in the designated BLM section on the right. Overflow will be on the left junction down at Pumphouse. You will need to pay an extra doller per person at the pay fee area (above the car price) to camp in the overflow section. Please pay attention to designated parking areas so that we abide by the BLM rules.

Safety and Volunteers:
Those that help with safety or volunteer for various jobs (ie: raft shuttle below Kirshbaum’s) are invaluable to the running of the event. Volunteers will get a free t-shirt for helping with the race. There are a few paid positions also. Please contact Lisa ahead of time if you have interest in any of these areas.

THANK YOU… AND HAVE A GREAT RACE!

More camping info

All spectators, volunteers, and race participants are asked to camp downriver from Launch 3. The group sites and the lower campground (campsites #9 through #18 along the river) will be available for everyone participating in any way in the Gore Canyon weekend. You will be able to camp anywhere in the grass of this area (please do not camp in the parking lots).

Lisa gets charged an assigned site fee to reserve this whole area for you. Write "Gore Race" in the Purpose of Visit box on the fee envelope and that money will be contributed to that assigned site fee. If you have a BLM season pass, display that in your car but drop your camping money in an envelope marked "Gore Race".

We must leave some camping sites open to the general public, so please DO NOT camp in the "old" campsites (one through eight) between Launch 1 and Launch 2. We will ask you to move.

Thanks to all for your cooperation in making this a safe and fun event!

Send a message via MSN to hobie
Wanted to thank Glide SUP for donating a carbon paddle as a prize as well as WRSI for a bad ass full face helmet. Both of them going to the SUP divisions. Thanks for the generosity.
