Gore Canyon 2008 Kayak Classes?

Ok boaters,

The classes for 2006 race were 8 feet and under and 8.1 and over. Thinking about a long boat division too this year; 10 feet and over.
Any thoughts.....

My advice is to create the following classes:
8 ft and under (creek boats)
12 ft and under
downriver - glass (traditional)
downriver - plastic (newer plastic boats, but don't meet "downriver boat specs")

i think the creekboats should be under 9' so as to include the remix, everest, jefe grande, super hero, critical mass, etc.
long boats are >9'.
and maybe a playboat category for the less than 7' boats.

<7'

>=7', <9'

>=9'

I agree with a three-way breakdown: under 9', over 9' (long boat), downriver/wildwater. No separate division for playboats, since (1) that's not really kayaking and (2) it's definitely not racing.

is a speeder a downriver boat?

is there that much interest in downriver racing in colorado? or that much interest in long, non downriver boat racing to justify two separate categories? why can't the tornados race the downriver boats?
