Good class IV (V) options if you're jonesin' to paddle

So AW has arranged for recreational releases on the Black Canyon of the Bear in S. ID and the first release of the year is happening this Saturday. The run is continuous class IV with one nice class V and a super fun 10' waterfall. Definitely a gem of a run and AW has worked hard to make this release happen. More beta on eddyflower.

Also, word on the street is that the Murtaugh section of the Snake River should be up to 15,000 cfs by Sunday. Gauge here. This is some of the best big water class IV in ID and flows over 10K are rare. It's runnable at any flow over 900 cfs but it turns into great big water around 12K. Murtaugh is mostly class IV with one V and an optional mile of V+ above the putin (known as the Milner mile.)

If you're jonesin to boat these two runs could make for an awesome weekend. Both runs are about 9-10 hours from the Front Range. Feel free to PM me if you have questions as I've done both runs a ton.

Hell, if you as close as Murtaugh you should come on up to Boise as everything here is running. 1000 out of Cascade and the weather puts the NF at 1800ish. So much for low water warm ups.
