Golden Playpark status for beginners

I'm a fairly new kayaker. I've only been on the river a few times, but I'm able to surf the Blackbear Hole in Lyons fairly well and I was able to run the playpark in Golden (barely). Does anyone have a good estimate when Golden will be a good run for a NOOB? I have an experienced friend who says it's his favorite playpark around the boulder area, so I want to give it a shot.

I would say maybe 350 and below. It slows down quite a bit.
