The word on the street is that Blutzski is going to challenge Livingstoned to a mud wrestle battle royale around 1am in the parking lot, Saturday night.
Who has odds?

gauley beta

Couple of us "1st-timers" will be there festival weekend.

1. Any particular campgrounds one would recommend?
2. Does one just stagger back to the car after the band each night. Is it Woodstock style camping?
3. Is the New River worth paddling at these levels before Gauley cranks?
4. Do they start releasing water at 1am Friday the 21st? Is there any residual flow the day after a scheduled release?
5. Do they sell beer on Sunday's?
6. What river in CO most closely resembles the Gauley?

Thanks

I've seen people camp at the put-in, the festival site and battle run (above dam) I have stayed at battle run the last few years, its not a party spot, festival camping is the party spot I believe. Not sure about the New right now. I thought they released the water around 7am the 21st. I doubt there will be residual water. I hear you can run it pretty low though. I've only been out here in Co. for a short time, don't know of anything that compares. The water will be much warmer. I hope they sell beer on Sunday, not sure always had plenty.
