Gasket Issues - melting??

Hey all,

Just got back stateside after 2 years away and am finally getting to go boating tomorrow. Looking over all my gear this morning and the neck gasket on my dry top is melting a little just at the edge of the gasket in the front. It is an IR top that had a season on it when I left - it was in great shape and the top was hung on a plastic hanger in basements while I was gone.

Don't know if it is from having the gasket touching itself for two years or lighting or heat, etc. It's kind of sticky and looks as if it has been melting - any ideas on what I can do to stop/fix this. Would armorall or that 303 stuff help at all. Should I just use it till it breaks then replace it? Thanks for any help and ideas.

Zach.

If it's just a small area, I would throw some aquaseal on there to help extend the life. Maybe 303 it afterwards to keep the rest of the gasket lubricated and flexible.
