Future Planning for Glen Canyon Dam

The Bureau of Reclamation is beginning an EIS process for Glen Canyon Dam. This no doubt will include consideration of operating requirments and experiments for the dam. Its impact on the Colorado River (floods and fish-related issues) will be a matter of some interest to many of us.

The full press release can be found at

Of particular interest, there will be public meetings, in Phoenix
January 4th and Salt Lake City January 5th, to solicit public comment. Comments also can be emailed to Dennis Kubly at [email protected]

I'm also picking up informally that there will be no high water event in the Spring of 2007.
