Fusion storage/gear bag advise

I got a mid sized Pyranha Fusion. Any stern bag advise. Want something back there in case the hatch cover ever comes off.
Had a Topo duo years ago. We came out and it turned into a redwood log, lost it.

I prefer to use primarily 10 and 22 liter tuff sack bags from NRS. Watershed bags for important stuff like electronics or sleeping bags. Get more variety of size and pack accordingly. You will have to shell out a little money to keep your gear dry on whitewater multiday trips.

If that back hatch accidentally opens won't all those smaller bags come floating out as the boat sinks?

First off if you flip, roll. Second, I don't think the hatch is going to come open unless you just let your boat go. Third, there is an attachment point in the hatch. Use a cam strap and run it through the point and all the bags... they won't go anywhere. Often on multi day trips I also remove the bulkhead and store water, beer and some other various things up front. I attached two d-rings to the inside of the boat and strap my MSR dromedary bag in front for a foot rest. I also run a cam strap under the seat and attach a pelican box and nalgene to it. There are ways to secure everything you need.
