fruita float day trip

hello, going to fruita for the weekend mainly to mtn bike and was hoping for a recommendation for a good raft float trip for an afternoon? some basic putin/takeout info would also be helpful. from what I've found, corn lake to connected lake is an option. or connected lake to fruita is another option. both options look like about 10 miles, so about 3 hours. I've heard that fruita to loma is not as scenic. thanks for the help!

Do the Corn lake float. It's actually scenic even though you are right next to Grand Junction the whole way.

Corn Lake to Connected lakes is a decent afternoon float. Believe it or not it's actually nice and peaceful for the most part. There is a nice heron rookery along the way also and if the water is high enough there are several small side channels to weave through.

Connected Lakes to Fruita is not nearly as scenic as Corn to Parkway. The shuttle is much easier though with I-70 running parellel. That and the Hot Tomato in Fruita make this a good run.

Corn to Parkway offers more excursion opportunities and whitewater. Although you need to be very selective with where you stop because you could find yourself in a homeless camp.
